1. What does AIESEC do? AIESEC is worldwide organization run by students or recent graduates. AIESEC striving for developing the potential of young individual through structured learning process. Part of this education process are also international traineeships, national and international conferences, leadership positions etc. Expect those concrete opportunities we are running many project which are reflecting external needs of society. 2. I would like to become a member, but I don't know if I have enough time. We could say that AIESEC takes XY hours per week. We are voluntary student organization and it really up to you how much effort and energy you put into yourself development and learning. Generally it is really good to contact any of our local offices and ask them this question or better, try this opportunity and join AIESEC. If you realized that you couldn't manage your school, personal live and AIESEC you simply go away or you realize that even it takes some time, it is valuable experience for your future. 3. When can I go for international traineeship? Most of our traineeship required minimum bachelor degree and higher. Anyway there are certain projects which allow also younger student to go for international experience. But it again depend from local committee to local committee. So please contact them for more concrete information if they are running such projects. 4. Why should I do something like this in my free time and even for free? Work in AIESEC is an investment in your education and experience, which will be very valuable for you in future. Moreover, working in AIESEC brings also many contacts around the world. 5. Which branch can I join? AIESEC Works in Slovakia in 7 cities, where we have 8 branches in total. The bes tis to join the branch that is most closely to your faculty or to your place of living. Check the contacts on local committees or contact our national office with your questions. 6. Can I go for internship without other work in AIESEC? Yes you can. However, AIESEC provides you the unique experience, that is designed for people to experience not only internship, but also a leadership experience and work in team. Do I need any extraordinary skills or experience to join AIESEC? No, you do not need anything extraordinary. To join AIESEC you have to pass the selection process, that includes application, interview, assessment centre and probation period. More about the process of selection read here. 8. What can I do in AIESEC? In AIESEC you can work on various different tasks. Work on small projects, leading of specific “department” (international exchange department, marketing communication, sales, finance management, talent management…), care about international interns, company care, internship abroad. And you can even become a manager of local branch. Read more about AIESEC experience. 9. How can I use my experience from AIESEC? There are many ways how to use the experience. During work in AIESEC you can gain many skills for working in teams and leading the teams, you become more able to work in diverse environment, you improve your selling and presentations skills, your personal management and many others. Moreover, AIESEC experience gives you a “kick” to the life, so you will want to strive for more. 10. Is there any age limit to be an AIESEC member? Members of AIESEC are students and recent graduates (up to 2 years after finishing their studies). The age limit is 30 years, but after finishing AIESEC experience, you still can be active as an alumnus/alumna (an ex-member) 11. Are there any boundaries regarding my field of study? No. AIESEC can offer a valuable experience for students of all fields of studies, if they are interested in developing their personal characteristics. 12. Are there any famous AIESEC members/ex-members? Yes, for example Helmut Kohl (german state secretary), Janez Drnovsek (Slovenian president 2002-2007) or Martti Ahtisaari (finish president 1994-2000, Nobel peace price winner). And many others.
